Services We Offer
Here at Change of Style Granite & Stone Ltd, we can offer a variety of services for our granite and quartz worktops, including different finishes and edges. There are three different finishes available – polished, honed, and antiqued. Polished finishes provide a high gloss and deeper tones, while a honed finish provides an older, aged look. Antiqued finishes provide an undulating raised finish, which is particularly decorative.
There are also a variety of different edges that can be achieved with our custom made worktops, which include Chamfer, Pencil Rounded, Demi-Bullnose, and Ogee. If you are unsure which edge best suits your requirements and kitchen, we can provide expert advice for you. Plus, we can also offer a range of different sinks to install with your worktops. These include Inset, Under Mounted, Belfast/Butler, and Silestone Integrity One and Duo.
In addition to the above finishes, edges, and sinks, we can also offer other products too, including both Upstands and Splash Backs. Upstands are used to create a border around the kitchen wall, making it easy to wipe down. These can be manufactured in a range of materials, including granite and quartz, so they can perfectly complement your custom made worktops.
Splash Backs enhance the aesthetics of your kitchen as well as make maintenance easier. They provide a continuous run of the worktop colour and design up your kitchen wall, creating a seamless finish. These are available in a range of colours, designs, and styles, so they can be customised to match your bespoke kitchen worktops.
Our Proven Process
Here at Change of Style Granite & Stone Ltd, we work within our own proven process when creating your custom made worktops. Following our proven process means that every product we produce will meet our exceptionally high standards of quality, so you will always receive a stunning worktop. Our process is made up of three steps – Digital Templating, Manufacture, and Fitting.
The first step in our process is digital templating, where one of our experienced digital templaters visits your property. During this visit, we will take accurate measurements of the tops of your base units once they have been fitted into their final position. These units will need to be level to within 3mm in order to take the most accurate measurements. Once we have these measurements and your design choices, we will create a detailed digital template for you, which will represent the final appearance of your custom made worktops.
The next step in our process is manufacturing, and to begin, we will send the digital template to our factory. Using this template, we will begin to manufacture your granite or quartz worktops, following the specifications set out in the template. This is to ensure your worktops are manufactured to the correct measurements. Our team are highly experienced, and we use CNC machinery in addition to traditional craftsmanship to create your custom made worktops.
The final step in our proven process is fitting, and our team are experts in this stage. We know that granite and quartz worktops can be heavy and difficult to manoeuvre, but we will handle your new worktops with the utmost care. When we carry out digital templating, we will survey the entrance methods to your property, finding the easiest route to transport your new worktops. We will have your custom made worktops fitted with precision.
Granite or Quartz?
You might be wondering which material is best for your custom made worktops – granite or quartz? Both materials are ideal for kitchen worktops, and they are very similar, but there are some key differences, such as in composition. Granite is a completely natural stone that is quarried directly before being cut, shaped, and polished. Quartz, however, is an engineered product consisting of a range of materials.
With the appearance of your worktops, granite has the slight advantage that every slab is different in mineral pattern and colour. This means that your worktops will be completely bespoke as there won’t be another worktop like it. Quartz, as an engineered product, is more uniform in colour and patterns, but there is a wide range available.
Whether you choose quartz or granite for your custom made worktops is really a matter of personal preference. They are both strong, durable, and stunning materials.
