Difference Between Granite and Quartz
There isn’t much of a difference between granite and quartz worktops, Kent clients, as they are both strong, durable, and stunning materials. The one big difference is how the worktops are manufactured.
Granite is a completely natural material that is quarried in large slabs. The colours and hues vary depending on where the stone is quarried. These large slabs are cut, honed, and polished, becoming the stunning worktops you see in kitchens.
Quartz, however, is manufactured in a different way. These worktops consist of around 90% crushed natural quartz which is then shaped and set with 8-10% resins, polymers, and pigments. It is the pigmentation that gives us the nearly limitless selection of colours.
Benefits of Quartz Worktops
There are many benefits to quartz worktops, which is why they are such a popular choice for kitchens across Kent. This is especially true for our quartz worktops, with benefits including:
Our quartz worktops, Kent clients, are available in an almost limitless range of colours thanks to the way they are manufactured. We use pigments in the process, and it is these pigments that provide the range of colours you can choose from. Your quartz worktops will be highly aesthetic, with the design tailored to your tastes.
Plus, quartz is a strong and durable material, which makes it ideal for use in kitchens. It is harder than a steel knife, so the surface won’t be damaged or scratched, and it is a non-porous material, so liquids won’t penetrate and damage the worktop. Your quartz worktops will look stunning and last for years.

Finishes, Edges, and Sinks
There are a range of finishes, edges, and sinks available to enhance and complement your worktops, Kent clients.
Let’s start with finishes – there are three different finishes available for granite worktops; Polished, Honed, and Antiqued. Polished finishes provide a high-gloss shine and deeper tones while hones finishes offer an older, aged look. Antiqued finishes give granite an undulating, raised finish.
We offer a full range of profiles (edges) on our granite worktops, including Chamfer, Pencil Rounded, Demi-Bullnose, and Ogee. Chamfer is a form of bevel and is a traditional edge between two faces of an object, created at a 45-degree angle. Pencil rounded has a slight angular edge that rounds into the vertical surface of the stone.
Demi-Bullnose is a combination of a more contemporary flat bottom edge profile and the traditional full bullnose completely rounded style. An Ogee edge is a worktop that features a sophisticated s-shaped curve.
We also have a variety of sinks available that can be installed alongside your granite and quartz worktops, Kent clients. These options include Inset, Under Mounted, Belfast/Butler, and Silestone Integrity One & Duo.
